Obituary for James Lee Castillo

Jim Castillo was born on September 28, 1960 to Elsie Castillo and Steven Castillo in Santa Maria, California. Jim was a very special man who was kind and pure of heart. He had a radiant smile that would light up the darkest of rooms, an incredibly fun personality with a little hint of mischief. He was a very loving person and loved everybody and everybody loved him. Jim was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and publisher for the Sherman Kingdom Hall. Jim loved his children, grandchildren, listening to oldies, serving Jehovah, baseball, and much more. He played semi-pro baseball as a catcher and pitcher for the Pirates in California. His favorite position was being the catcher. As he ran from base to base, he had a distinct run that reminded friends and family of a running cartoon character. He was a very successful wrestler during his high school years at Arroyo Grande High School, and was often referred to by his nickname, Jimbo. On September 16, 2020 Jim, died unexpectedly at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the young age of 59. He was far from alone as he was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. He was a true hero as he was able to save a life by donating his liver to a critical patient in Dallas, TX. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, he was loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Castillo and Steven Castillo, grandparents Maria Castillo and Ramon Castillo, great grandparents; Feliciano Castillo and Eduvigen Castillo, and Brother Jeff Castillo. He will be lovingly remembered by his former spouse, Connie Castillo and their children; Jimmy Castillo (Christine), Dustin Castillo (Amanda), and Tuesdae Castillo (Dionicio). Sister; Rosie Ayala, Brothers; Robert Castillo, Sam Castillo, Danny Castillo, Charlie Castillo, Benjamin Castillo, Edward Castillo, Steven Castillo, and Tina Gould. Grandchildren; Sophia Castillo, Karina Castillo, Madison Castillo, Mariyah Castillo, Aaliyah Perez, Michael Castillo, Julius Chain, Liliana Castillo, Jacquelynn Delgado, Kaden Delgado and an abundance of nieces and nephews. In life, he was loved dearly, in death he will still be loved. In our hearts, he will hold a place no one else will ever fill. Jim will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild, or friend. Time waits for no one.
