Obituary for Franklin Delanor Raglin

Franklin Delanor Raglin was born on August 18, 1944 in Denison, Texas to the late Johnny Morton and Mary Lee Raglin. He was educated in Sherman Independent School District, and graduated from Fred Douglass High School in 1962.
An only child, Franklin was raised by his mother and grandmother, Martha Edmonson, and grew up with his first cousins. He had a great ear for music of all genres and played the bass guitar. He was a great debater who was very philosophical and held court with the best of them. Being the “show man” , he considered himself a fine dresser, changing clothes up to three times a day just to prove a point. He often referred to himself as a “Thoroughbred”. He was a Jack of All Trades and a Master of Some.
Franklin enjoyed playing dominos, backgammon and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He loved visiting family members and reminiscing about the good old days. Attending family reunions always brought him joy, as he could touch each person there. He was a realist and a spirited person that brought life to the party.
Franklin worked for MKT (Missouri-Kansas-Texas) Railroad, and held various construction positions. He was one of the very best at laying tile in homes.
On January 14, 2020, Franklin transitioned from time to eternity. He is proceeded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife Katherin Benett Raglin of Dallas, his loving children, Frances Denise Raglin of Dallas, Ella Renee’ Raglin of Dallas, Jimmie Banks (Nicole) of Houston, Kaylin Delon Raglin of Dallas, Tryane Wright of Fort Worth, and Kisa Moore of Gainesville; 9 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. Franklin will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
